So I talked Bre into going and seeing the Knowing with me last night after I finished work she also invited Mikael. It was a very interesting movie that twisted Christianity and intermixed it with other religions. At one point Nicholas Caige who was playing the part of a college professor went into a lecture on Determinism verses reaction ism. The premise of the movie was that there was this child who fifty years ago received all these numbers from well who or what did they come from? but Nicholas kid received the list of numbers and they correspond to every major disaster in history and tell the exact number of deaths. The point being that the world is about to end...well in the begining the child who received the numbers looked demon possed and in one scene was seen scratching with her finger nails numbers into the door when she was found she begged "please make it stop." Later in the movie you find the same child now grown up and dead from some type of OD. But in her house there was a bible that she apparently read a lot and a picture from Ezekiel 1. Now there were strange "beings" that kept showing up and terrorising the children. They were called the whispers and in the end they turn out to be some angelic type beings that were sent to save certain children.
There was many problems with this movie but one of the things that really struck me was that they were trying to tie it into Christianity. Nichol's father was a pastor and it came up more than once. But they made every interaction with the "heavenly" seem demonic. The children who would stare lifelessly and start scratching into whatever surface they could reach. The "angels" who walked around in trench coats and hid in shadows and looked more like a witch...
I'm out of time more thoughts later.

Sounds like a interesting movie...so would you say it was Christian?
Krista
I have been thinking of how the trend is becoming more prevalent to call good evil and to call evil good. This is truly a sign of the end times.
Dad
Yes it defiently was a weird twisting of the truth and the "good" was defintly EVIL looking
Jared it was not christian though they tried to make it look that way anyone who was not a christian would now have a messed up view of christanity
