More Fun

So Mom and I went and ran some errands yesterday. We went to the bank and then to JC Pennies and found some nice clothes for Mom. (Dad she looks great and we kept her position in mind i.e. turned down the more Eugene type clothes) After that we went to Panda Express and mom tried there food. I love Panda Express. We then tried three different salons and it was not until the 3rd one in Springfield that we were able to find one that does eyebrows!!! After this we went to another bank and then to G-ma's and G-pa's. Michail and I watched a T.V show and then the rest of the family arrived. I hung out there a little longer and then went to work.

At work it is suppose to take 3 - 3:1/2 hours to clean I have been going over on the time but I worked really hard and fast yesterday. I was starting the damp mopping which is the last thing and meant I would only have about another 10 - 15 minutes of work. I had only been working for 2hr 55 min I was so excited. Then Bob my boss walked in the door 44 minutes and multiple Prophecies later he left AWWW. It took me 4 hours again.

Tuesday

So yesterday I found out which building I'm cleaning and when and how many hours. I also found out who my team lead would be. I'm cleaning a Hospice type office building and there are signs everywhere that are a little bit "different." Such as there is this bookcase in the hall that has all these cute pictures of kids and other pictures of adults but if you look closer you find out that they are obituaries. I can start anytime between 6PM - 7:30PM and it is Sun - Thur it is suppose to take about 3 - 31/2 to clean the place. This is a lot less hours than I wanted so be praying the place decided they want everything cleaned every night instead of half one night and the other half the next night. The place is only about a ten minute drive from home which is a lot nicer than the 20+ minute drive it takes to get to there main office. My boss is Bob M. he used to work with Dad and he is a christian. This is really a blessing and a nice change from the lesbian boss.

My new camera arrived and so I can start putting pictures on WOOT.

1st day

On Sunday we went to church and then a potluck at G-ma's and G-pa's. There was a lot of people there and it was fun. I also remembered why I like working in the kitchen at such functions you can hide and everyone things that you are just a true "dear".

Bre and I hung up picture in the apartment I think we beat the boys and they had about a month head start WOOT. It looks really good.

On Monday a friend from masters that now lives in Eugene came out and visited we had a really good time.

I then got ready for work and went to my safety class. It was rather funny. I went from the call center where even if there was truly an emergency you could not get ahold of anyone to being told that if there is the slightest thing different or anything no matter how small is wrong you are suppose to call your boss. I think I can enjoy this.

After I got off work I meant the other siblings and Mikael at Gateway theater and watched Monsters vs Aliens. We had a good time the movie started at 9:15 and I showed up at 9:15.

Oh Quick Catch Up

I went into Brothers Cleaning on Friday and received my "uniform" which is a Bright Blue T-shirt and the information that you can not wear a bathing suite to work (shoot). We also went over all of the policies and such. Hey Dad they now have gone green and you have to start work by 7:30 PM. Myself and 2 others were the first people they had hired in about a year. They are going to try and get us three new hires up to full time as quickly as they can.

The DMV would not provide a temporary license aparently the call center lady (who I will not name) did not know what she was talking about. But the person I spoke to at the DMV said that my driving record did show that I had a active drivers license and that the police are really nice and understanding. I believe that was her way of saying just go ahead and drive as you wait for the bill to arrive.

Stacia and I then ran some errand with mom and came home.

Us offspring then finished the Revenge of the Drunken Duck. it is a lot better now but still kinda of iffy in spots. But that is okay because there is a lot of above branches and if anything was to start to give there would be a lot to grab on to :)

We went out to Aunt R house on Saturday and had a good time she had really developed the place it look really nice.

We then dropped off some plastic chairs at G-Ma's and grabbed a few items from the store and came home. Later we had a really great dinner which we ate on the floor because we had taken all the chairs to G-ma. I relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Anyway I need to go do my hair to go to church or I might be left behind.

07-16-09

Yesterday was a very good day. Mom and I went out to pick up some job applications and we stopped and did some shopping as well. We were able to find some clothes for mom. I memorized the Wal-Mart greeting "Thank you for calling W 11th Wal-Mart home of unbeatable prices how may I help you." But I resisted the urge to do the ladies job when she was not there.

I received a call from Brother's Cleaning: WOOT

We went to the lake and had a great time it was really enjoyable. The water was not deep enough to drown in unless something went really wrong so that was nice to illuminate that concern. We did some chicken fights and Jared (the other person on the bottom) decided to try and drown me. So I decided that if he was going to use his height against me that I could use my ability to kick...The people on top were a little surprised when there death lock was broken by Jared...

We then came home and ate a delicious meal. Myself and Arielle down then did clean up and went and were hanging out in the basement. In the meantime Mom, Bre, and Jared went to Wal-Mart. While we were cleaning and relaxing in the cool basement we started receiving phone calls from Bre saying that she HAD a INTERVIEW at Panda. The last of her calls sent us flying from the cool and amazing basement into the blazing OR heat . We did what she needed and then watched as the whirlwind arrived.

After she left us kids watched Tim Hawkins and then we all headed to bed it was a very fulfilling and complete day.

Oh Bre said the interview went really well and she thinks that she will get the job. Be praying.

The spellcheck is not working so forgive the spelling.

WOOT

I HAVE A JOB AT Brother's Cleaning!!!! It is part time for now but I am also waiting to hear back from PaPa Murphy's about there 5-10 hours. The Lord is Amazing

Oh what a mi call it

Yesterday was a pretty laid back day. As I mentioned I did not go out job hunting yesterday because I had already pestered the people to the point of annoyance. So instead I got up and went to work out. Now I have tried to make it over there at the same time Jared is a couple times and it has never worked out even when we communicated before hand. But yesterday I woke up and decided to go upon exiting the apartment I saw Jared just exiting his house. (lol)

Mom and I then messed with the Internet stuff and I worked more on the checker board. I managed to finish the checker board and it only looks somewhat abstract. Jared said "wow I did not expect it to look that good." He must not have a very high expectancy of my work (hump).

I played a VERY quick round of pictornary with the little ones and yes Josiah the butt did come up.

We then tried are hand at Hangman and let me tell you it was an EXCITING time. Some of the spelling that we came up with was very unique.

We then decided that to calm down from are rousing game of Hangman that we should build a tree fort. Now as Jared would say "it was Rodeo." Arielle and I climbed up in the tree and Jared handed stuff up as Nolan, Zander, and G-ma worked on getting a few steps putt together for the more vertically challenged. We now need some rope to tie it all down. I think this latest creation rivals the drunken duck in soundness (lol).

We then ate dinner and went on a walk. All in All it was a lot more rewarding than the job hunt has been.

Today I am probably going to try picking up some more applications and start the process over in a new section of town. Which is a bit frustrating without a drivers license. I think that DMV's are more frustrating than call centers ARRGGG

Weird Lane County Sighting

Bre had the weird sighting of the day.

As she was driving home she saw this lady walking down the street in a WEDDING dress. Now the lady was carrying her shoes and limping... So of course Bre would assume something was wrong...But when she got closer she discovered that the woman was just find and she was just going for a stroll in a wedding dress. The woman also had very bazaar make up on.

Bre commented that with all these people around she is constantly getting ready to stop and help just to find that they are just weir Lane county people.

Life in Lane County

Bre and I have been spending the last week filling out job applications and basically making the rounds.

I have put in applications at:
Lowe's
Fred Meyers
Wal Mart
Albertson's
Carls Jr
Papa Murphy's
Little Caesars
KFC
Taco Bell
Subway
Panda Express
Pet Time
Knife and Edge
Brothers Cleaning

I have had an interview with Brothers and with Papa Murphy's I have made sure that I was always dressed really nice when I dropped off applications and I have stopped back by the locations and checked on progress I have also sent thank you note to people after I had an interview. I have my Resume (on nice paper) and a letter of recommendation that I have also been giving out. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? The unemployment rate in this county is at 15%.

I started working on Bre's and I's checker top table and I decided that making perfect squires are even harder than perfect circles(lol)

I am going to be heading out to have fun with mom and the little's plus Jared(yes Jared you are so special) later. I made the rounds (jobs) yesterday and I don't want to overwhelm anyone with my awesomeness(grin)

I have also come to relived that this town is really "messed up" (just for you cy) and that apparently the people have decided to cut there expenses by not purchasing clothes! For that matter I think they are not buying soap or shampoo either.

The last little bit has been crazy busy. We just finished the Easter Egg Scramble fort the Church it was a lot of fun and came off pretty good. Well we didn’t have to run to the hospital (harvest party) and no stitches’ which was actually a concern, let me explain we have a TON of eggs that were given to us by a church and every year we match and count out a certain amount ( this year 5000) and then because they have been sitting in storage with mice we have to wash them with bleach. Well the eggs have a tendency to shatter when you go to wash them which can leave some pretty deep cuts. Then also apparently bleach is a acid and we managed to over do the bleach in my sink so that I got chemical burns all over my hands (there better now and I don’t think they will scar Praise the Lord) and the other person ended up sick from the fumes. We were much more moderate from then on out (this is my third year to do this and we had never had any problem). But other than that this can be a very fun time of making eggasperating jokes and the like.

Bre and I are getting ready to go to Anaheim Ca to work a Microsoft show, and then do pastors conference it will be a long trip but I’m sure it will be loads of fun aswell…

For Me personally I have decided to start looking into doing mission work in Israel and see what the Lord opens up.

How fitting the last time I wrote was exactly a year ago (sigh) well I lot has happened in that time I went to MX and had a great time. We did more Microsoft shows and raised money. We helped host the 75th diamond anniversary for open bible at our church. We planed and executed our Masters tenth year anniversary. We did multiple outreaches, smaller mission trips, and church services. We saw many lives touched and hearts changed. And then we graduated I have to say it was a very exciting thing to see all the young people that I had mentored or just had grown with all reach the end especially because some didn’t think they would. And then I entered my first courtship and had my heart broken for the first time (and I pray the last time) when it didn’t work out… Bre, Trevor, and I all came back for a third year which means we are interns/ staff (Shutter). Are year started off rough and we have had our ups and downs throughout this entire year. But seeing the growth in the students (my kids) is really worth it. Pastor Josh (our new director) and I just took the first years down to feb tour (held in AZ) which was a time of renewal and birth for all of them it was a great time and I enjoyed watching and participating in it all. I am praying about next year and will someday figure it out… Bre and I just got back from visiting dad in Eugene, we had a great time and cant wait to see the whole family later…

Ministry Final

Hello Everyone,
I am not sure how long it has been but I will only write on this last week. Which was (drum roll) MINISTRY FINAL!!!! Ministry final is where we go and take everything we have been taught up to date and apply it. This year they divided us into three groups. The 1st yrs were divided into there traffic groups (ministry learning groups) and then us second yrs were our own group. On Monday we all went to the Valley and had a meeting with a businessman in are church and he talked about professionalism and business ethics. On the way back we were all assigned hand tailored jobs for each of us designed with the intension of challenging us in different areas. I’ll list them off in the order they came.
Trevor, lead and execute a youth service that night.
Lance; come up with a new ministry venue to present to the pastoral staff Wed. morning.
Bre, plan and execute an outreach for both 1st and 2nd yrs that has never been done.
Krista, manage the 2nd yr team and make sure all assignment are done.
Esther, focus on relationship NOT task. Plan and execute an outreach to a nursing home.
Well we had a LOT of questions and then we dived in. Monday night’s service was good but not all that it was supposed to be. So are first lessons to be learned. For Trevor you HAVE to Rely on your team. For me I hurt my team by not speaking up. I’ll expound later.

On Tuesday we had academic stuff in the morning and then jumped into planning an outreach (Bre) for a woman shelter. It went really good, we all had a great time. But this was just an outreach with us second yrs. So it didn’t count as Bre’s assignment. Then when we got back from that 8ish we jumped into preparing Lance’s Ministry Venue. We worked on that till 4:30-5ish wed. AM and then we went home showered took an hour nap and came back all dressed up to present it to the Pastoral staff.

Wednesday, Our presentation was supposed to be 10min. long with A&Q. We finished presenting in 7 min and then the Pastors proceeded to question us for 42 min. It was really good and we all learned a lot and we will continue to work on the Ministry Venue and present it again. From this Lance learned in a major way about having a soft heart and tough skin. And taking what is said and learning from it. And the rest of us learned this in varying degrees. We then spent the rest of the day preparing for Esther’s nursing home outreach. And doing Financial Peace University. And then after all that we had mid-week ministry and I have to tell you all I love my Preschoolers. Then we all went home and studied a little bit and went to bed. YEAH

Thursday, we madly practiced our instruments the nursing home. And then we ran to lunch buddies ran back grabbed stuff threw it into Lance’s jeep talked to the first years about what we were doing that evening With them. And ran to the nursing home. We had a lot of fun it is always so much fun to go to nursing homes you leave feeling so encouraged. But the Race was on again so back to the church we went and taught the 1st yrs the skit they were doing for that evening threw a different set of stuff into the Van (caught ya you thought I was going to say Jeep HAHAHA) and went to a after school program place for kids and had a Christmas party with them. It was fun and Really nice to have the 1st yrs back with us.

So what did I learn over all from all of this? I learned that you have to speak up. Unfortunately for Trevor I learned this from not doing so with his ministry (sad day) some of the components that he was supposed to have were creative and using the whole team. I knew he was doing either but I didn’t tell him I decided that it was better for me not to interferer. Boy was I wrong that night when Shelly and Pastor Josh evaluated the service they tore him up pretty bad for not using his team. His sermon was good and interaction with the kids was good. But he didn’t use his team. Now the fact that I had seen this and not pointed it out to him was really an eye opener for me. And so I tried really hard the rest of the week. I spoke up and present my argument to Pastor Josh for a Curfew extension and because of it we got curfew lifted so we were able to finish Lances projected. If I hadn’t that would have been another meeting I sat through going I saw this and let my team down by not speaking. I later let Esther down by not helping keep everyone focused on Wednesday (we were all so Very Tired) I helped both Bre and Lance by critiquing they’re speaking. (Funny I know since I’m the one that doesn’t speak. But I did take a public speaking class and they haven’t) So I will continue to work on this speaking up thing. Something of interested that Esther told me was that by not speaking up you lose the right to be heard. And this was meant only in a good way not in a bad overbearing sort of thing. So that is what I am coming away from this week with.

I have to go study or I would tell you all about yesterday and today as well. But I will say Really fast that today’s outreach was Amazing. And we are beginning to see the fruit of are labors in Hillyard from over the last 2ish yrs.

My thoughts

Hey everyone life is still pretty laid back, but busy at the same time. We are making another human video and it is really cool. I am excited about it. I am also playing the lead girl in it WOHOO.

On a bit more of a serious note, I have some thoughts from a scavenger hunt we did the Friday after thanksgiving. With this scavenger hunt a group of adults from the church goes to the mall and hides, while the youth tries to find them. The youth that finds the most people get a reward.

The hiders are encouraged to dress up. Bre wore her host brothers clothes and went as a boy, Molly dressed like a girl punk rocker. I dressed up like an interesting Emo/Goth. I ended up getting separated from the group and walking around the mall by myself for two hours. I learned a lot by doing this.

People would shy away from me like I had leprosy. This was weird because people usually crowd me and make me move for them! The little kids were all scared of me and were hiding behind their mothers! Everyone else acted like they didn’t SEE me! Now, they had to see me to avoid me. Didn’t they? After an hour of this I really just wanted someone to smile at me or even acknowledge my presence. One person did a person at a KIOSK!

I got to thinking about it. The place was crammed with people from the church, but none of them saw me. I walked by all the youth kids, and because they wouldn’t look at me, they didn’t recognize me. How often do we walk around judging people by how they are dressed? All the mothers that hid their children from me, would have let me baby-sit if I was dressed differently!

How may of the people that look mean and scarey that walk around the malls or around town are inside longing for someone to just smile at them? I was. You have kids with bad lives that start dressing scarey or even just DIRTY, because they cant afford nicer, and people treat them like outcasts. Except the RELLY gothic people, the witches, they will accept them. So that is where they go. The whole time they might be crying out, as they are be dragged down that road, but we, as Christian,s don’t see or hear them because they are ”scarey” and not “acceptable”. Next time you see these people, try smiling instead of the judging look that asks why someone would dress like that.

I'm about to be shut off so I don,t have time to reread this so if it is hard to read in places sorry.
